Pilots' strike cancels hundreds of Lufthansa flights

About 130,000 passengers were affected on more than 800 flights in the cities of Frankfurt and Munich. Passengers were asked not to go to the airport, but to travel by train instead or rebook flights on another day.

The company said that Lufthansa airlines such as Swiss, Austrian, Brussels and Eurowings will not be affected by the strike and will operate as scheduled.

Lufthansa flights will also operate from outside Germany, provided that the aircraft and crew are already abroad.

The German Pilots' Union called Thursday evening for the pilots' strike, after collective negotiations with Lufthansa collapsed.
