Emirates welcomes the release of part of its funds and resumes flights to Nigeria

An Emirates spokesperson confirmed that the airline will resume operating its flights between Dubai and Lagos as of September 11, and said: “We welcome the move by the Central Bank of Nigeria to release part of our frozen funds, and we continue to work with the Nigerian authorities to ensure the continued return of our frozen and future funds without hindrance. Accordingly, Emirates Airlines will resume operating its flights between Dubai and Lagos as of September 11, which is the earliest date to coordinate the smooth and safe resumption of operations, and will also provide customers with sufficient time to plan their travel and make reservations. We are constantly reviewing our operations and will adjust flight schedules in response to demand and other operational factors.” He added: “Emirates Airlines is committed to serving Nigeria, providing flights for individuals and companies to access trade and tourism opportunities in Dubai, and through our broader network that covers more than 130 destinations.”
