“On the Edge of the Moon” .. An Egyptian documenting a strange scene in the sky of the city of Sharm El-Sheikh
Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The sky is a prominent part of the life of the Egyptian, Ahmed Waheed, as he works as an air traffic controller, in addition to being a member of the Egyptian Committee for Rare Bird Records. More than a decade of filming led to him documenting a magical scene that people thought was not real.
Waheed's passion for photography, and wildlife photography in particular, began at a young age, as his father worked as the manager of the Zaraneq Reserve in North Sinai.
The photographer explained: “I have long wished to photograph birds with the moon. With some anticipation, luck, and choosing the right moment, I was able to picture the stork as if it jumped off the edge of the moon.”
The majority of those who saw his photo were surprised, and others questioned whether the photo was real, or processed by the available processing programs, and others were curious about the place and time of filming, something Waheed welcomes as a result of his interest in promoting environmental awareness among people.
The area of Ras Mohamed Reserve is about 200 square kilometers, of which about 75 square kilometers is in the land part, and about 125 square kilometers in the marine part, according to the official website of the State Information Service in Egypt.
