World Cup 2022.. Dubai Airport is preparing to facilitate the crossing of fans to Qatar

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, confirmed today that Dubai Airport is ready to facilitate the transit of football fans who will travel through Dubai to attend the FIFA World Cup, scheduled for the end of the year in Qatar.

The World Cup finals will be held at the end of this year from November 20 to December 18, for the first time in the Arab world and the Middle East.

The Gulf states agreed to facilitate administrative procedures for fans who will pass through their countries.

"We are currently putting in place travel procedures that will make moving between the two countries much easier," Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, told AFP.

Griffiths explained that registration will be done online, which will allow fans to "get in and out very quickly" and avoid "the usual procedures" at Dubai International Airport, which was the world's busiest airport for international passengers prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Griffiths expected "a large number of flights per day (in Dubai) during the World Cup to transport fans to and from Doha."

Qatar expects to receive 1.4 million people during the World Cup.

Saudi and Kuwait Airways, flydubai and Oman Air will operate more than 160 daily shuttle flights, starting from November 20, to return and return within 24 hours to and from Doha to follow the matches.
